MotorSolve BLDC is the first modern electric motor design software which combines powerful automated FEA simulations with an intuitive interface, providing an easy-to-use environment full of powerful features and capabilities.
Motor Types
MotorSolve BLDC includes multiple machine types, such as:
- Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) Motor
- Surface Mounted Magnets
- Spoke
The extensive sets of rotor and stator types included are extremely adaptable as to accommodate basic to complex BLDC designs. A sophisticated validation mechanism verifies each change to the global design and guides the user through the creation process.
Streamlined for rapid and accurate results
Within a few minutes any BLDC design can be created in MotorSolve. The automated FEA feature manages the setting required to compute accurate performance results or export the design problem to MagNet for classical FEA analysis.
Initial Sizing
MotorSolve BLDC's sizing features computes an initial value for several parameters related to the size of the machine based on general design parameters.
Two different methodologies, torque per unit volume and rated current density, are available.
Automated FEA
MotorSolve BLDC offers several methodologies with the automated FEA module, each best suited for various design stages and devices under study. The integrated solver generates numerous charts and fields based on accurate FEA technology without any pre-processing. New core loss calculations have also been added.

Complete Problem Export to MagNet
MotorSolve BLDC exports the device geometry, materials data and winding configuration to a MagNet file. The problem is setup with optimized mesh settings and correct boundary settings. The user can use the default excitation or modify it to accommodate the drive type or performance characteristics of interest.
