Transient 3D solver
The Transient 3D solver is applicable to non-linear eddy current devices and devices with arbitrary-shaped current or voltage inputs, such as relays or certain conditions of machines and transformers.
The solver finds the time-varying magnetic field in the presence of materials that may be conducting, magnetic, or both. The conductivity may be isotropic or anisotropic, and the magnetic materials may be linear or non-linear. Also, each material may have a specified coercivity and direction of magnetization, thus allowing for the modeling of permanent magnets. The specified currents may flow through any type of material, including magnetic materials.
When using the Transient 3D solver, the user inputs the voltage or current waveform, as well as the desired steps which the solver will take through the waveform. Interim, and final solutions can be examined. Note that displacement current and, consequently, wave phenomena, are not modeled - please ask your representative for the appropriate solver for wave phenomena.
