“Design and Optimization of BLDC and Induction Motors” Course In January 2010
Orlando, FLNovember 27, 2009
Beginner and experienced motor designers are invited to attend a one day course on how to design and optimize two popular classes of machines – electronically commuted brushless dc and induction types. This course is a part of the preconference agenda of 2010 Motor, Drive & Automation Systems, being held in Orlando, Florida on January 27th, 2010.
This course is aimed at enhancing the skill sets of new and experienced designers by using practical examples and software tools available to cover motor design theory. The attendees will learn how to select motor types base on performance requirements and financial constraints. The optimal approach to designing an electric machine based on such criterion will be demonstrated. The topics covered include: output based sizing of motors, dimensioning, material selection, typical winding configurations, layout methods and motor analysis techniques. A promotional price for attending this course is in effect until the end of 2009.
The course will be taught in part by Jim Hendershot, who has 40 years experience in practical hands-on PM & SR brushless motor design, manufacturing and development, and the technical staff at Infolytica Corporation, who develop software tools for motor design.
