Infolytica enters into a strategic partnership with SPEED

Montréal, Québec, Canada – October 12, 2004 -- Electric machine designers who use University of Glasgow's SPEED software will now be able to combine its advanced CAD software for electric motors and drives, with the powerful calculations of MagNet, Infolytica's design & analysis software for low frequency electromagnetic devices. A link that was first developed by Infolytica Ltd in the UK is now part of a tightly integrated system that will fulfill all the current GoFER functions in SPEED. As well, MagNet is capable of returning the same files as PC-FEA to all SPEED programs for MatchFE and for further design calculations in SPEED. More developments are planned for the near future to further enhance the combined service of MagNet and SPEED to the worldwide community of electric machine designers.

About SPEED

SPEED (Scottish Power Electronics and Electric Drives) is a consortium of industrial companies with a common interest in power electronics and motor drive technology. By means of an annual subscription they support a range of R&D projects in the Power Electronics Laboratory at the University of Glasgow, focused in the area of motor drives.

Since its inception in 1987, the SPEED Laboratory has become known for its electric motor design software which is used by many leading companies.
