ThermNet enters the 3rd dimension
Montréal, Québec, Canada – June 20, 2003 -- Infolytica is pleased to announce that 3D stand-alone thermal and two-way electromagnetic-thermal coupled simulation capabilities are now available in ThermNet, beginning with version 1.5. Similar to the way it is done in 2D simulations, the user may solve 3D thermal problems that involve conduction, convection and radiation. The simulation may be purely thermal or coupled to electromagnetics. The coupling consists of a two-way process, where at each step, the material properties are updated to take into account the temperature, and then the losses are re-calculated in order to find a new temperature profile. Steady state or transient thermal solutions can be coupled with static or time-harmonic electromagnetic solutions to solve a variety of problems.
