MagNet for SolidWorks Now Available
MagNet for SolidWorks is the newest embedded 3D electromagnetic field solver from Infolytica Corporation. The simulation and analysis of any electromagnetic device can be performed completely within the Solidworks environment, making it simpler than ever to setup such complex design problems. This includes a wide range of applications such as transformers, sensors, MRI, actuators, solenoids and more.
This new product is not a live link or connection of two standalone software tools, but rather a fully integrated add-in to SolidWorks which runs seamlessly inside the CAD environment. Make geometric modifications to examine its impact without worrying about exporting model data and dealing with compatibility issues.
Other unique features are the and state-of-the-art visualization features for:

Rare Earth MRI Magnet Assembly
In this example we use MagNet for SolidWorks to examine the use of rare-earth permanent magnets for generating an uniform field of 0.5 Tesla. Solution results show that the fields which are generated in the bore of the assembly are suitable for potential use in a medical MRI. Read more

Simulating a Skewed Induction Machine in 2D
Induction motors often have skewed rotor bars in order to minimize the torque ripple and cogging effect. Skewing also eliminates high-order harmonics in the stator current waveform which can potentially be harmful. By definition, skewing is a three-dimensional feature and usually requires lengthy 3D simulations. Fortunately, MagNet's unique mesh capabilities make it possible to accurately model skew using the powerful 2D solver and a multi-slice approach. Read more
Voice Coil Actuator
In this example we use MagNet for SolidWorks to examine the flux distribution created by a rare-earth permanent magnet assembly. The field profile generated by the magnets combined with an energized coil provide a suitable Voice Coil Actuator response. Read more
