MagNet for SolidWorks Coming in 2014

MagNet in SolidWorks An entirely new product from Infolytica Corporation is coming in 2014. This add-in to SolidWorks embeds MagNet's 3D EM finite element technology inside the popular CAD package.

Just one design environment: The advantage is a device can be simulated and analyzed with Infolytica's electromagnetic solver technology directly in SolidWorks' native solid modeling system without any geometric translation or model importing.

More details about the first version of MagNet for SolidWorks will be available in the first quarter of 2014. See a preview at

Webinar: Simulating power transmission lines with ElecNet

2:00PM Eastern Standard Time (New York, GMT-05:00)

Power Lines in ElecNet In this webinar, we will use ElecNet 2D/3D to understand the complexities of the electric field produced by and surrounding a power transmission line, the insulator and tower. Read more

Stray loss reduction of a power transformer by employing wall shunts

Power transformer with Shunts With growing transformer ratings, the stray loss problem becomes increasingly important. In large rating transformers, the stray losses in structural components constitute about 10-40% of the total load losses. This can result in substantial increase in tank hot spots. In large units, a common method used for controlling and reducing the stray losses caused by the leakage field, is the use of magnetic wall shunts. Read more

MagNet & OptiY: Robust Design of Induction Motor

Im Motor Induction motors are the ac motors which are employed as the prime movers in most of the industries. Such motors are widely used in industrial applications from small workshops to large industries. The robust design optimization process delivers optimal nominal values of the design parameters. In this case study, the probabilistic simulation for the robust design points out only a total failure probability of 0,013% related to the design specifications, which represents a high quality for the manufacturing process.
