MagNet Plug-in for PSIM
Our new MagNet/PSIM Plug-in allows users to combine the power of the PSIM, the Circuit and Systems Simulator from PowerSim, and MagNet, Infolytica's finite element analysis software package. This co-simulation, in which both PSIM and MagNet run their transient solvers simultaneously, allows a constant data exchange between the applications to keep the shared quantities (voltages and currents) synchronized. IPM Motor with vector control
In this Gallery page example, the vector control of an Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor is simulated using the combined power of PSIM and MagNet. PSIM simulates a rotor speed feedback loop that generates PWM phase voltages. A transient motion solve, running concurrently in MagNet, uses these voltages to calculate the coil currents, which are then fed back to PSIM.MagNet 6.17, ThermNet 1.8, ElecNet 6.10.1,
SPEEDLink Assistant2.1, and RIM Design Assistant 1.1 releasesThe major additions to these releases are the following:
- ThermNet adds thermal-transient to magnetic-transient coupling.
- ThermNet adds thermal-static to magnetic-transient coupling.
- ThermNet adds the thermal convective link boundary condition to implement convection between boundaries.
- All solvers allow mesh and/or polynomial (3D only) adaption on individual components.
- A nonlinear anisotropy model has been added to the materials database.
- Users can control anisotropy in 3 different directions by specifying an optional x-axis vector.
- Iron Loss calculations -- improved interpolation scheme when loss properties are specified for several frequencies and temperatures.
- Sorting of user parameters in the Parameter Page.
- Speed and memory usage improvements overall and especially in coupled solves.
- DXF importing has been sped up.
- SPEEDlink Assistant no longer requires a 3D solid modeler. This modification allows for an increase in speed for modeling.

User Conference 2005
This year's conference is being held on May 26-27, 2005 at the Mont-Tremblant Resort, found just north of Montreal in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains. The conference, formerly known as the UGM, will feature presentations of Infolytica's software products by our developers as well as by some users, who will demonstrate how they have applied our software applications to get solutions to their "real world" problems. As is customary in such an event, we will be highlighting and showing examples of most of the advanced features we've implemented in the last year. Asides from receiving some great insights into our software, the User Conference also provides a wonderful opportunity for you to give us feedback and submit suggestions.

Motor & Drive Systems 2005
February 8 - 9, 2005 - Hyatt Regency Tampa - Tampa, Fla.If you are attending this two-day conference focused on the latest advancements and economics in electric motor and drive technology, please pay us a visit at Booth 25. Our representatives will be available to elaborate, in more detail, on the many improvements that have been made to our software applications.
Webinar on OptiNet
(February 16, 2005 at 3:00 pm EST)Join us for this internet seminar on OptiNet our high quality, reliable, and easy-to-use optimization tool. This webinar, which runs for approximately 1 hour, demonstrates how OptiNet can be used, in tandem with MagNet, to optimize an Internal Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor.
This announcement is offered as a way to inform the Electromagnetic community of the many efforts Infolytica is making to provide state-of-the-art advances in this field. If you wish to be removed from our mailing list, simply send an e-mail to listserv@listserv.infolytica.com with the words "SIGNOFF INFO-ANNOUNCE" in the message field.
