Infolytica Announcement #23
August 6, 2004

Products

MagNet 6.16, ElecNet 6.10, and Trajectory Evaluator Assistant 1.2 releases

The latest versions of MagNet, ElecNet, and Trajectory Evaluator Assistant are now available for downloading from our Support site. Some key features of these new releases are MagNet's ability to have multiple motion components within one device, ElecNet's floating electrodes concept completely changing how floating conductors are treated in an electric field simulation, and Trajectory Evaluator Assistant now allowing for multiple trajectories to be calculated in a given model.

OptiNet 2.0 to be released soon

The following days should see the release of OptiNet 2.0 with its brand new feature, the discrete optimizer. This unique tool is the only one of its kind for optimizing a design based on electromagnetic or thermal field solutions allowing for discrete-valued variables - no other optimizer on the market has this capability. Discrete-valued design optimization is necessary when some variables in the design can only have discrete values; for example, the number of turns in a winding.

Magnetic Gear

This example illustrates the advanced capabilities of MagNet's Transient with Motion solver, which is capable of simulating multiple moving parts simultaneously.

Transformer Bushing Application

This gallery page demonstrates a two-dimensional analysis of capacitive bushings inside of an oil-insulated transformer using ElecNet's floating electrodes.

Discrete-valued design optimization -- induction heating

OptiNet's discrete optimizer is featured here in this example of how OptiNet, in tandem with MagNet and ThermNet, is used to find the optimal shape design for a multiple coil inductor device.

Gas Insulated Switch

To demonstrate the flexibility of Infolytica's suite of Electromagnetic and Thermal Analysis packages, we have taken a Gas Insulated Switch and simulated it under a variety of different loads and configurations.

Deflection Yoke

This example highlights the advanced coil modeling capabilities of the MagNet analysis package.

Training courses

The next MagNet Training Course is scheduled for August 17 - 19, 2004. This course offers a fast way to become productive with one of the most powerful 2D and 3D software tools available for the Electromagnetics' designer.

This announcement is offered as a way to inform the Electromagnetic community of the many efforts Infolytica is making to provide state-of-the-art advances in this field.
