Announcing the release of MagNet 6.11

MagNet 6.11 is now available for downloading from our Support site. We've made a number of improvements to MagNet, keeping our Low Frequency Electromagnetics simulation software product several steps ahead of the competition:

Coils

• CAD import of windings and automatic calculation of the current distribution.
• Simplified the setting up of exciter coils for printed circuit board structures.
• You can now create simple coils or multi-terminal coils.

Solution

• Our 3D solvers have increased in speed, making them frequently many times faster than solvers from other leading vendors.

Meshing

• Improved the quality of meshes for geometries with extreme aspect ratios.

Circuits

• Diodes have been added to the circuit editing for the 2D system.

Results

• Introduction of Nodal forces used for vibration analysis.

General improvements

• Added three new options for drawing arrows in the Arrow plot.
• Plus hundreds of new scripting APIs.

Other improvements made to previous versions of MagNet over the last year alone

• Thin ferromagnetic plates have been implemented in MagNet as a surface property.
• More meshing controls on volumes, surfaces, edges, and vertices.
• Improved error recovery and error reporting.
• Improvements in the overall speed of all programs.
• Ability to catch user events in event handling.
• Solid Model extrusion along a multi-segment sweep path.
• Cutting planes in Boolean operations.
• New snap modes have been added that make drawing easier.
• Detection & Healing -- detects problems (dangling edges and edge vertices) in the geometry on the construction slice, and provides options for the user to correct the problems.

NEWS & EVENTS

User Group Meeting

Information about Infolytica's User Group Meeting (UGM), being held in Montreal on the 22nd and 23rd of October, is now available. This UGM is offered free of charge to all users of Infolytica's line of products.

Training courses

The next MagNet 6 Training Course is scheduled for August 13 - 15, 2002. This course offers a fast way to become productive with one of the most powerful 2D and 3D software tools available for the Electromagnetics' designer.
