MagNet Training Course

Participants will acquire a sound understanding of two- and three-dimensional electromagnetics modeling and will learn to work effectively on their company's designs using MagNet software.

In practical terms, this course offers a fast way to become productive with one of the most powerful two- and three-dimensional software tools available for the magnetics designer.

Who should attend?

Engineers and designers of electromagnetic devices, including:

Current MagNet users

  • Learn to use the software in a methodical and efficient manner to produce better designs in record time.
  • Discover new features that allow you to increase your productivity.
  • Learn advanced techniques such as parameterization and scripting.
  • Avoid common pitfalls.
  • Optimize your analysis for minimal solution time.
  • Add material curves to the MagNet material library.
  • Customize the model for more accurate and/or faster solutions.
  • Select appropriate solver formulations.
  • Obtain more results by taking full advantage of the post-processor.

Future MagNet users

  • Find out how MagNet software can help you to improve your designs, and reduce your prototyping time.
  • Learn about the many powerful functions of MagNet software.
  • Find out what functions are required for different applications areas.
  • Evaluate the system fully in 3 days, with access to immediate counseling.
  • All participants progress from standard to individual applications.
This course combines tutorials, demonstrations and lectures where participants are urged to interact with the instructors. Fundamentals are stressed to encourage better and faster application of MagNet to real-world examples. Participants are introduced to the essentials of program use, and an understanding of optimum problem solving approaches.

The lecture material will focus on teaching the user about the full range of options available in MagNet. in addition, lectures will reveal common pitfalls and describe approaches for analyzing, isolating and correcting mistakes.

The schedule allows instructors enough time to consult with the participants on an individual basis and offer advice on the user's specific application.

The following is the tentative schedule for the MagNet Training Course. The course allows the new user to setup and analyze various types of problems by the end of the session.
