Harmonic Analysis of Axial Gap PM Generator Using 3-D Finite Element AnalysisOne of the performance requirements of an aircraft generator is its output voltage quality. Magnitude of any individual harmonic should not exceed 1.5 percent and total harmonic distortion should less than 3 percent as per the MIL-G-21480 requirements.This paper describes the results of the no-load harmonic analysis obtained using 3-D electromagnetic finite element analysis of an axial gap permanent magnet generator and a comparison of the analytical results with the test data. |
