Finite Element Inductance Calculation for Electric MachinesIn this paper, the principles and drawbacks of the existing finite element (FE) inductance calculations for electric machines are examined. An improved method is proposed to save computing time and to increase accuracy. This method eliminates the need for specially designed FE solutions as required with the existing methods. The new technique is demonstrated by its application to permanent magnet synchronous machines. |
