Design and Performance of the SRRC Quadrupole Magnets48 quadrupole magnets have been manufactured for SRRC storage ring. There are 4 families of quadrupole magnets with different magnetic length used in the storage ring. The same pole contour with bore diameter of 76 mm is computed by "MAGNET" program. The magnet design and procedure of mechanical fabrication and assembly are described. The auxiliary coils are incorporated in main coils for trimming the field strength of individual magnet. Pole tip ends have a 6 mm x 6mm chamfer to reduce dodecapole in the end of the magnet. The results of field mapping achieve the deviation of integral quadrupole field within +- 1 x 10-3 in 30 mm bore radius region. |
