This example involves four different configurations of shielding steel plate: a plate with no slots, one slot, two slots, and three slots. The magnetic field density is measured along contours on the surface of the plate, and compared with measured results.

The Bath Cube Experiment (T.E.A.M. Problem 5)

Four aluminum blocks are spaced symmetrically between the poles of an electromagnet. A MMF of 1000 A-Turns is applied between the upper pole and the lower pole. The magnetic field is then measured along contours on the surface of the lower pole.

Voice Coil Actuator

The Voice Coil Actuator is a high precision motion control device. These actuators are capable of both low speed, low acceleration movements as well as high speed, high acceleration movements. Programmable servo controls allow the actuator to carry out a move profile as required. Its primary advantage over other motion control devices is that the load is directly coupled to the actuator.
